I'm a woman who has a passion for birth, family and community issues. I find the powers of the human system a fascinating subject and feel honoured to be doing work that is so intimate, empowering and profound. I strive to bring the best of myself to every situation and I love the power of community!
I attended my first birth in 1992 and was captured by the wonders of the process. After attending more births, I obtained my birth doula training through DONA in 2001 and postpartum doula training through CAPPA in 2004. I gave birth to my own child in 2002 and this further fueled my development as a birth professional. In 2007 I certified as both a hypnotist and a HypnoBirthing® childbirth educator. In 2015 I became a certified Stillbirthday Doula which enables me to support families experiencing perinatal loss. In 2018 I trained as a Lactation Educator to further my skills in providing breastfeeding support.
In 1997 I obtained degrees in sociology & social work, and in 2017 I certified as a Simplicity Parenting Family Life Coach. I have extensive continuing education in early childhood development, communication & relationship, sexuality, supporting survivors of sexual trauma during the childbearing year, bereavement and hypnosis for pain management & fertility.
I'm adept at meeting others where they're at, regardless of the "weather". Joining with others to bring more love, peace and wellbeing to the world through practical and heartfelt means is my greatest joy!

ASSOCIATE INSTRUCTOR - ANNE WEEKS
Anne’s fascination with pregnancy and birth began in childhood and grew as she did. Summer jobs as a nanny left a lasting impression into the challenges and joys of parenting young children. After her own children were born, Anne operated a home daycare for several years. She went on to support breastfeeding families as a volunteer La Leche League Leader and a Lactation Consultant in private practice.
Today, Anne’s passions revolve around preparing families for childbirth and early parenting. She has taught prenatal classes for over 10 years. Since 2013, Anne has supported families as a CAPPA Certified Postpartum Doula, providing non-judgmental support and practical help. She has specific experience supporting new parents living with postpartum depression and anxiety.
Anne enjoys walking in nature, yoga, knitting and spending time with her adult children.
